Pilates For Life was established in July of 2018 in New Bremen, Ohio, by Katie Geis. As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Katie had witnessed the benefits of Pilates for people of all ages—both through her work and in her own recovery after pregnancies.
She began with just three reformers and a few sets of props in a space designed with room to grow. At the time, Katie was dividing her hours between working as a PTA and instructing Pilates classes. As demand for the studio grew, she added a fourth reformer and increased class availability. Just six months into owning Pilates For Life, Katie realized the need to expand further to meet the growing interest from the community.
Within the first year, a fifth reformer and expanded hours were added, and Katie made the decision to transition fully into running Pilates For Life. In July of 2020, a second location was opened in Botkins, Ohio, along with the addition of two more instructors. The new location quickly flourished, and within six months, plans were made to move into a larger studio space in Botkins.
By early 2022, the Botkins location officially moved into its new, expanded space. Today, Pilates For Life operates with 8 instructors between both locations. Classes are held six days a week and offer a wide variety of times and teaching styles—no class or instructor is the same, making it a great experience to try different options.
Pilates is for everyone. We’ve welcomed clients from age 5 to 95. All exercises can be modified to fit any age or physical ability. While many enjoy the energy and community of group classes, we also offer private sessions tailored to individual needs and goals.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions—we’d love to hear from you!
Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on building core strength while also engaging the arms, legs, and overall body. It’s a versatile practice suitable for all body types, ages, and fitness levels—anyone can do Pilates.
Many people turn to Pilates for its ability to lengthen and strengthen muscles without placing stress on the joints. Some rely on it as their primary form of exercise, attending classes up to four times a week, while others use it to complement activities like running, heavy weightlifting, or other high-impact workouts. Whether the goal is injury prevention, improved flexibility, or simply a form of relaxation, Pilates can meet a wide range of needs.
At Pilates For Life, we primarily use Pilates Reformers in our sessions. With 5 to 7 reformers available per class, our group sessions remain intentionally small, allowing for personalized instruction. All experience levels are welcome. Thanks to adjustable spring resistance on the reformers, workouts can be customized for each individual—ranging from foundational movements to more advanced challenges. By combining reformer work with mat and tower exercises, we’re able to offer a fresh and dynamic workout experience each time you visit.
For those who prefer a more personalized approach, we also offer private sessions. These are ideal for clients with specific goals or conditions, including Scoliosis, Osteoporosis, post-rehabilitation needs, pre/postpartum care, or simply a desire for one-on-one attention.
Please note: Children must complete a private session with an instructor before joining a group class, to ensure they’re safely and confidently prepared.
